Restricted
Creators, webcam studios and subscription platforms. The mainstream ad platforms are closed to explicit material outright, so the plan is built on specialist networks, on honest mainstream-adjacent funnels, and on organic — which nobody can revoke.
Start with what seems off-limits
In the adult industry, Meta is widely considered a closed platform. Technically, that's true: explicit content is prohibited, and advertising restrictions are strict. But there's a difference between being unable to advertise explicit content directly and being unable to reach the audience altogether. Even here, campaigns are possible if you understand the platform's policies, which formats are allowed, and where the real boundaries of moderation lie.
What's still on the table
- Specialized networks. Established ad networks in this space deliver real volume, openly accept the vertical, and offer predictable buying conditions. Here, media planning and optimization remain the foundation of performance.
- Meta and adjacent funnels. Even in this vertical, Meta doesn't have to be excluded from the media mix. Dating platforms, creator subscription services, and social products can run campaigns with the right positioning, compliant creatives, and landing pages.
- Organic. Search demand in this category is enormous and permanently
underserved by anyone unwilling to publish. It is slow, it compounds, and no policy update takes it
away.
Creative and payments
Two practical constraints determine how far you can go. The first is how explicit your creatives can be. Every ad platform sets its own limits, and a single creative rarely works across all channels. On Meta, it's especially important to consider not just the ad itself, but also the landing page, product positioning, and the entire user journey.
The second is payment processing: card networks classify the adult industry as high-risk, and a funnel that converts well but can't process payments isn't a funnel. That's why payment infrastructure needs to be built alongside your acquisition strategy, not after campaigns go live.
What we won’t do
Nothing involving non-consensual content, nothing without proper age verification. We don't assume that platform restrictions automatically shut the entire vertical out of Meta. Where the format is permitted and the offer is transparent, we approach Meta with the same level of rigor as any other advertising channel.
